Books....And What's Happened Lately

Unfortunately, last weekend there was a blackout in my area after a strong storm/tornado-like weather. It is crazy, because our power stayed on through the storm and through the night into the morning, but then randomly at 10AM last Friday the power went out! And then it stayed out for the entire weekend. I was so vexed! Anyways, after dealing with it for 24 hours, eventually I headed to my sister's place for the weekend and power and peace of mind.
In other news, I've been reading this amazing book called "Evicted." It's about tenants, landlords, and the housing crisis when it comes to renters in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's a great book...... I'm thinking that I want to review it, because I do think books of this nature are essential reading, especially for Americans/people living in the United States. I'm a political scientist, or at least, that's what my undergraduate degree is in. I studied that because I loved it and the social sciences in general. I still read mostly nonfiction books as a result, and "Evicted" is a gem I came across at a local bookstore. Though its focus is Milwaukee, the situation mirrors many American cities. Anyway, I feel like I should review it because it gives a detailed look into the lives of some of America's most marginalized and these things matter to me.
I'm not the most disciplined person, but as y'all know this website is me actively working on that! I hope that book reviews will be appreciated. I focus on nonfiction because there is so much to learn; however, I do also enjoy fiction mostly in the form of webtoons, manga, and the occasional sci-fi/mystery thing. I definitely think everyone can stand to read more, so expect the occasional book review, because where else am I going to talk about what I'm doing besides on this blog?
I love reading and writing but I recognize not all people do, so eventually I want to release video/audio format of things! I should be finished reading evicted within the next month, so lookout for my review on it!
